Animoto
Animoto (www.animoto.com) is a website that generates slideshows from uploaded photos, video clips and music. Once completed, videos can be emailed, downloaded and embedded into other sites. The videos appear very professional, and the program is so user friendly that students will not need any training. Educators can apply for a FREE Animoto Pro account which allows the teacher to create unlimited videos of unlimited length. The educator code also allows the teacher to distribute 50 student licenses. However, once the 50 licenses are used the teacher needs to reapply for a new code in order to obtain more licenses. This process can take a considerable amount of time and is somewhat frustrating.
Once you create an educator account, write down and save your educator code (this is not saved in your Animoto profile). Students must enter this code when they are creating an account; otherwise, without the code, students would only be able to create a 30 second video for free. The code is essential!
